Pincushion Swap

Please join us in our pincushion swap.  We are excited to be swapping our creations with other modern quilt guilds including Kansas City, Wichita, Bay Area, Vancouver, and Indianapolis.

All pincushions should have a modern aesthetic.  Also, since we are mailing them, please make sure they are non-breakable.  Bring your finished pincushion to the November meeting and attach a piece of paper with the following information on your delightful creation:
Name:
Email:
Blog (if applicable):
Guild:
Filling:
Attending QuiltCon: (y/n)

If you can't attend the meeting in November, send your pincushion to the meeting with a friend, or contact our VP of Events, Christine Smartt, and she'll help you find the best way to get it to a guild member.

We can’t wait to see all of your great works of art.

You can click here for more inspiration.

Tammie Schafer from the Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild has an awesome Pinterest board called Stick It that is full of inspiration for pincushions

Some suggestions for filling your pincushions are batting, wool roving, emery powder, sand, rice, beads, silica gel, or crushed walnut shells.  At our September meeting, our fantastic new transplant from Kansas City MQG, Mary Anne Mashl Williams mentioned that you can get walnut shells from the pet store in the hamster aisle.  Thanks for the awesome tip Mary Anne!

For those of you going to QuiltCon in February, please indicate on your form that you will be attending the convention so we can pair you up with someone from another city to meet at the event.  If you need more information about QuiltCon, please look it up here . It’s going to be an awesome event!

When you have completed your pincushion, please post photos on our Flickr page and our Facebook Pincushion Swap page.
We look forward to seeing all your pincushions and sharing them with our new Modern Quilt Guild friends.

This swap is an event for current guild members only. If you'd like to learn more about membership please click here. We'd love for you to join us!

Happy sewing!
