Meeting Agenda

We will start the meeting promptly at 6:30pm. Please check-in at the membership table before finding a seat. The new Executive Council will introduce themselves and we'll take a moment to recognize any new visitors that are in attendance.

National MQG Update

As a pilot guild, we have already started beta testing on the Modern Quilt Guild's new community website. We will discuss the following and open the floor to questions regarding this process:
a. Registration
b. Website Testing
c. Membership in the MQG

Committee Reports

Each member of the Executive Council will give a status report to bring membership up to date with the latest news.
a. Treasurer/Membership - Jill will discuss our current available funds and membership count.
b. Outreach/Charity - Rebecca will recognize our members for their recent charitable efforts.
c. Events - Corinne will discuss upcoming August and November retreats at the Wimberley Quilt Ranch. You can sign up here.  She'll also touch base about scheduling future casual social events.

Show and Tell

We'll open the floor to all members who have brought an item to show the guild and discuss what modern quilting techniques were used to make it.

Take a few minutes to chat with other members and new visitors.  Refreshments will be available in honor of our outgoing Executive Council, and we'll take some time to thank them for their year of service to the guild.

Member Feedback

Our main program for the evening will be a small group discussion of what our membership wants and needs during the upcoming year. We'll review the March 2013 Special Events Survey Results & re-affirm the findings with our current members, as well as gather opinions about community outreach, programming, and workshops.

Upcoming Meetings

Finally, we'll introduce you to the focus of our August meeting "Get Connected to Modern Quilting!" and announce our upcoming Challenge planned for the September meeting.

We hope you'll join us as we start a new year of modern quilting! See you Thursday!

  1. Looking forward to the meeting!

  2. Boo. I out of town this whole week.

  3. Gosh... the stars are aligned, Serger class students are all playing hooky... I should make it to the meeting!
