  1. I'm bummed I can't go to the retreat this weekend, but I've been to several in the past. My favorite part is all of the sewing that I can get done at The Quilt Ranch without all of the distractions that cut into sewing time at home ;-)

  2. I've never been to a retreat, but I hope to make it to a sew-in day sometime soon. That's about as big of a time/money committment I can make right now :)

  3. I love retreats! My favorite part is collaborating with other quilters. I am always inspired by the work of others and I get great feedback on my own work.

  4. I'm with Claire, my favorite part is the uninterrupted time to sew. To have that among other quilters is icing on the cake.

  5. Retreats are the best! You get SO much done and you get to know more of the folks in the guild. I plan on powering through a queen size quilt top at the very least this weekend. :)

  6. I've been to retreats with the Chicago Modern Quilt Guild and they were super fun. My favorite part was the uninterrupted time to sew and the lovely friends to share it with. I got to know a lot of people much better on those retreats.

I wish I could make this one but I'm going to San Francisco for a week this month, and had two work trips last month, so it's sort of my turn for kid duty. Maybe next time!

  7. I have yet to make it to a retreat. My favorite part--I'm sure--would be to sew, sew, sew, without having to stop for my family (sometimes they're so needy and want to eat--duh, that's why God created frozen food, crock pots and drive throughs).

  8. After attending my first retreat, I think my favorite part is the opportunity to be inspired by what others are making. I value the time I am able to spend working on my own projects, but love being surrounded by talented and creative people using a variety of styles, colors, patterns, and techniques and keeps me in awe of the art of modern quilting.

  10. I haven't ever been to a retreat, but I am really looking forward to making it to one soon. I struggle with that home/ hobby/family/ work balance thing...

  11. Sadly I've not yet been to a retreat... I can fantasize though, can't I? I think my favorite part would be sleeping, undisturbed by beagles or children. Second to that, I'd want to soak up all the skill and inspiration I could from my fellow quilters.

  12. I went to the May, 2012 retreat at Wimberley Quilt Ranch, my first ever! It was so great to get input and help on colors, be inspired by what others were working on, and get to know others in the guild.

  13. I love the retreats. Don't have to feed the kiddos. Uninterrupted sewing. It's like power sewing. So bummed I can't make this one.
